6/8/2013 - Motorcycle-Superstore.com's Tickle records second straight top 10 finish

MT. MORRIS, Pa. (June 8) - Motorcycle-Superstore.com rider Broc Tickle had his best 450cc motocross race of the season on Saturday during the GEICO High Point National at High Point Raceway.

Tickle rode his Dodge/Sycuan Casino RCH Racing Suzuki to a 10th-place overall finish in the fourth round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, his second top 10 finish in a row. Tickle finished 11th in each moto and moved up to 10th in the 450cc points standings.

"Honestly I want more but it's the best moto finishes I've had, so we'll take it," Tickle said. "We'll move on and work on what we need to each week."

Tickle had moto finishes of 13th and 11th in last week's race at Muddy Creek Raceway and improved this time around.

"Today was good," Tickle said. "I was third in both practices, which was really good. The motos didn't go as well as I wanted them to because of my starts. Everybody is so close. From fifth to where I'm at is really close and everybody is about the same speed."

Tickle was 15th after the first lap in the first moto but passed two riders on the second lap to settle into 13th.

"Moto 1 was good," Tickle said. "I was right there with (Mike) Alessi and stayed with him the whole moto. We made a bunch of passes and I got into 11th, and that's pretty much how it ended. There were a bunch of us within 10 seconds, so it was pretty close."

Tickle had a similar experience in Moto 2, coming across 15th on the first lap, but his fitness and patience paid dividends as he was able to get by two riders with three laps to go to get into 11th place.

"I made some passes and at the end got past a couple of more guys," Tickle said. "It was really good that I was strong at the end. I'm looking forward to the next race."

The competition is so fierce in the 450cc class that getting good starts is crucial to success. Tickle vows to work on that before the June 22 Red Bull Budds Creek National at Budds Creek Motorsports Park in Mechanicsville, Md.
